Ms. Deborah A. Hall, '90
This scholarship was established in memory of Michael Voelker by his daughter Deborah Hall, ‘90 and her former husband Hugh Hall. Michael Voelker was born in Boston and lived in South Weymouth for many years. He earned an associate’s degree at Newbury College. Voelker served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964 and worked at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard from 1968 to 1973. After the based closed, he went to work for a Navy contractor at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station, retiring in 2006. During his time at the Naval Air Station, he was general foreman from 1981 to 1997. He was a member of the Save the Base Closing Committee and attended Old South Union Church, where he was a deacon for eight years. He also served as president of the M&M Club. Mr. Voelker enjoyed camping at the South Arm Camp Grounds in Andover, Maine, fishing, boating, music and drawing.
