Robert Crowley Memorial Prize for Excellence in Collegian Column Writing
Robert Crowley was a Journalism major and Collegian columnist who graduated in 1982. He wrote columns for the New Bedford Standard Times until his death in an automobile accident. In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a published Collegian columnist enrolled in a degree program at UMass. Previous winners are not eligible. To be considered you must submit one column that was published under the Opinion section of the Massachusetts Daily Collegian during the current academic year. A committee of Journalism faculty selects the winner based on quality of writing, originality and effectiveness.
