Dr. Jess Kane, '70 and Mrs. Andrea D. Kane, '70

This scholarship was established by James and Andrea Kane. James “Jess” Kane is a founding Partner of Kane, Tesini, Soporowski & Associates, LLP. He’s from Mashpee, Massachusetts and earned degrees from UMass Amherst, BS ’70; Tufts University, DMD ’74 and Tufts University, MS, 1978. Dr. Kane has served on the UMass Amherst Foundation Board since 2003, is a lifetime member of the UMass Amherst Alumni Association and is affiliated with these organizations: UMass Club Founding Board of Governors, American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Association, Massachusetts Dental Society, Project Stretch, Inc. and Tufts University. Andrea Kane graduated from UMass Amherst in 1970 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Andrea is a Life Member of the Alumni Association and an appointed member of the Alumni Association Board. She serves on the Programs and Services Committee and the Grants Review Committee. Andrea volunteers her time with the American Cancer Society, the Metrowest Hospital, Graceful Stitches and Project Stretch. Previously, she served as a retail manager, owned a decorating business and was a reading teacher/specialist and elementary school teacher.
