Supplemental Questions
  1. Consider the following hypothetical: Sera Stokes, a well-known reporter on technology and politics, published a series of articles from an investigation of a large technology company named Q Labs and its CEO, Mon Elusk. Frustrated by the criticism, Elusk uses his company’s advanced artificial intelligence tools to create a series of deepfake video and audio files depicting Stokes using racial slurs and other offensive, inflammatory language. Elusk posts the videos on the social media site he controls, where they quickly go viral. Stokes, through her lawyer, demands the videos be removed, but Elusk and Q refuse, stating that posting the video and audio files is protected speech. How do you believe this hypothetical case should be resolved? Should deepfakes--hyperrealistic depictions of others through artificial intelligence tools--be granted protection? Why or why not? Please explore this and support your answer with an essay, roughly 5 pages, double spaced, not including references / citations.
  2. Please upload your current resume.
