BDIC Go Get the World Scholarship
Scholarship established by a 1987 BDIC graduate who wants to support students with a vision for their future that does not fit within a major offered at UMass Amherst. Recipients must be Bachelor’s Degree with Individual Concentration (BDIC) majors and have completed at least 3 semesters at UMass Amherst.
Preference will be given to students who:
*are involved in the Center for Women and Community or the Women of Color Leadership Network. Secondary preference will be given to students who are members of Isenberg Women in business, Leading Women of Tomorrow, Society of Women Engineers; or the Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies Department, all of which are open to all students, or
- are from the first generation in their family to attend college, or
- have transferred to UMass Amherst from a community college, or
- come from an educational or cultural or geographic background that is underrepresented in the United States; or,
- have demonstrated a sustained commitment to diversity in the academic, professional, or civic realm (meaning efforts in the United States to reduce social, educational, or economic disparities based on race, ethnicity, or gender or to improve race relations in the United States) through their work experience, volunteer engagement, or leadership of a student or community organization; or,
- have experienced financial hardship as a result of family economic circumstances.
